Differentiated service delivery (DSD) models are relevant for all chronic diseases. A DSD approach is client-centered while also adapting services to ensure the health system effectively scales up access to a growing cohort of people requiring chronic disease prevention, treatment and care including for HIV, hypertension and diabetes.
The DSD initiative of the International AIDS Society (IAS), ICAP at Columbia University’s CQUIN project and Resolve to Save Lives are exploring how to support countries interested in leveraging DSD for HIV treatment to integrate hypertension and diabetes prevention, care and support.
In 2021, stakeholders from ministries of health HIV and non-communicable disease (NCD) departments, PEPFAR and civil society will be brought together to discuss and share experiences with the goal of scaling up the provision of DSD for HIV treatment and integrated hypertension and diabetes care.
