Two reports commissioned by the Capacity Project and USAID examine the utilization of lay human resources for home ART refill delivery in Uganda.
The first (2006) details the human resources practices developed by TASO for attracting, selecting, recruiting, training, deploying, supporting and retaining its workforce of field officers.
The second (2007) is a guideline for human resources planners and managers in the health sector and sets out the steps required to extend the health workforce by incorporating lay workers, especially in the delivery of antiretroviral therapy (ART) to home-based clients.
