Despite advances in testing and the availability of different testing approaches, many people remain unaware of their HIV status. Applying different approaches to testing issues and using innovative ways of reaching those most vulnerable to HIV, including young people, will be important. Essential to this will be applying a differentiated approach to HIV testing services.
In this pre-conference workshop, co-convened by the World Health Organization and International AIDS Society, participants will learn about differentiated HIV testing models, how to build an effective and efficient testing programme with targeted interventions and share lessons learned with representatives from ministries of health and implementers.
Using the new Decision Framework for Differentiated HIV Testing and country data, participants will leave with knowledge on where to test, who should do the testing, when testing should happen and what package of services to include. Join us for an interactive session where participants will work on case studies in groups and determine how to select an appropriate strategic mix of HIV testing approaches.
