The COVID-19 facility guides, slide decks and posters have been developed in South Africa and are regularly updated based on implementation experience and aligned with latest COVID-19 clinical management and infection prevention (IPC) and control and healthcare worker occupational exposure guidance. The primary care facility preparedness guide includes updated recommended personal protective equipment (PPE) requirement by COVID-19 risk zone and a focus on IPC measures necessary in staff only areas of health facilities such as tearooms. It has been endorsed by the City of Joburg Health, RUDASA, the Infectious Diseases Society of Southern Africa (IDSSA), Wits School of Clinical Medicine, Anova Health Institute, the Gauteng Health Department and Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF).
